Sump-Roof Drain Connection to Storm System

Sump pump discharges and roof drains may be connected to the City storm sewer system with approval by City Engineering Division per Article II, Control of Post-Construction Stormwater Management (Chapter 288-18 D (6)(e){4}, Municipal Code).

*City crews will prepare curbs, catch basins, mini-storm and/or storm sewer pipe prior to private connections being made.

The City of Watertown’s storm sewer system is designed to drain stormwater runoff to the nearest stream, wetland, pond and the Rock River. Only rain and snowmelt (with a few exceptions) is allowed in the stormwater sewer system per Article II, Chapter 453, Municipal Code. Clear water connections are allowed with an approved permit.
