Pool Rules

The successful operation of the Watertown Aquatic Center and Indoor Pool is dependent not only on the efforts of a qualified staff but also you, the user of the facility.  Please review the information below.  Your cooperation will help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at the pool. Failure to follow the directions of the aquatics staff may result in pool privileges being revoked.

General Pool Rules

  1. Do not enter the pool if you have a communicable disease or an open cut. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.a.]

  2. Do not bring food, drink, gum, or drug products (including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, vaping/e-cigarettes) into the pool and pool areas. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.b.]

  3. All swimmers must take a shower before entering the pool. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.c.]

  4. Do not run or engage in rough play in the pool and pool areas. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.d.]

  5. Do not bring animals into the pool area. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.e.]

  6. Diaper changing on pool deck is prohibited. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.f.] Baby changing stations are available in locker rooms.

  7. Glass and/or items that easily shatter are prohibited in the pool area. [ACTP 76.29(1)(b)1.g.]

  8. Appropriate swim attire must be worn. No cut-offs. Jean shorts, street clothes, swimming attire that does not cover appropriately (for family facility) or attire with zippers, brass rivets and/or metal adornments allowed in the pool.

  9. Children 8 and under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult caregiver who is within arm’s reach of the child in the water at all times. The minimum age of a child to be dropped off at either pool alone is 12 years of age.

  10. Season pass may only be used by the person listed on the season pass card. Persons who misuse their season pass will have their swim privileges revoked.

  11. US Coast Guard approved life jackets only. Life jackets are not permitted in the deep end or slides. Participants wearing a life jacket must be supervised by a caregiver and within arm’s reach at all times.

  12. Be respectful of and follow the directions of the aquatics staff at all times.

Watertown Aquatic Center Specific Rules

 Watertown Indoor Pool Specific Rules

  1. Season pass or daily fees are required for all persons who enter the facility, including those who are not planning to swim.

  2. No carry-ins of any kind are allowed (coolers, food, drinks).

  3. During any designated adult swim, patrons under the age of 18 must exit the water. Only patrons 18 years or older will be allowed in the pool.

  1. Facility doors are not unlocked early. No early arrivals or staying past scheduled swim times.

  2. Swimming equipment is the property of the aquatics department and only available during instructional programming.

  3. No admittance into facility unless during pool programs.

Diving Board Rules

  1. One (1) rider at a time. Wait until the landing area is clear before entering the slide.

  2. Slide in a sitting position or on back only.

  3. Do not attempt to stop the slide.

  4. Leave plunge area immediately.

  5. Wearing glasses or goggles on the slide is prohibited.

  6.  WARNING: Water depth is only 3 feet 6 inches.

  1. One (1) rider at a time. Wait until the landing area is clear before entering slide.

  2.  Slide on back in a laying  position only. 

  3.  Do not attempt to stop in the slide. 

  4. Leave the plunge area immediately. 

  5. Wearing glasses or goggles on the slide is prohibited 

  6. WARNING: Water depth is 12 feet.

  1. One (1) person at a time. 

  2.  No dangerous activity on the board.

  3. One (1) bounce on the board.

  4. No swimming in the diving area.

* note: minimum height of 3'6" is required to ride. signage is posted at the entry of the water slide.

Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or eject from the premises, any persons failing to comply with any health and safety regulation or facility policy. Management decision regarding any rules is final. Refunds on admissions, program fees or season passes will not be given.
